Susan joined Elverson Vasey in 2013 after spending the previous 25 years working as a partner at Ekstrom & Burkey. She was a certified mediator and specialized in family law.

Susan, who is from Rockford, Illinois, received a Juris Doctorate degree from the Drake University Law School in 1976. She is a past president of the Polk County Bar Association and served on the Board of Governors of the Iowa State Bar Association from 2008 to 2012. She also served on the Fee Arbitration Committee and the Family Law Committee of the Polk County Bar Association.
